As a rule of thumb, general industry standards recommend one hour of supervision for every 20 hours of client contact time. This means that if you’re coaching full time, then you should be having 1-2 hours of supervision per week, but if you’re coaching part-time, with for example five client coaching hours per week, then you should be having a monthly supervision session. The more you coach, the more supervision you need and the more supervision you do, the better your coaching capacity, which indirectly leads to more coaching (and therefore more supervision).
