Self-knowledge, self-responsibility and self-confidence in coaching
One of the outcomes of coaching is that clients learn to take responsibility for new aspects of their life/work . Clients gaining self- confidence is part and parcel of the process of taking responsibility, as clients learn to trust themselves and feel they are growing stronger.
As clients learn more about themselves, thereby increasing their self-knowledge, their self-confidence grows and they take more responsibility. Furthermore, greater self-confidence and self-responsibility supports clients to learn more about themselves, so it becomes an interdependent, iterative and cumulative cycle.
