Subtle considerations for online coaching

Since the pandemic, online coaching has far surpassed other modes of coaching delivery. Yet the shift to digital platforms has introduced new dynamics to the coaching process that most online coaches are not aware of. This has an impact on the success of online coaching relationships, therefore, it is critical for coaches in this era to have an understanding of these factors.

 

 

This issue of Coaching Research in Practice reflects on a recent study of online coaching. It considers best practices in online coaching, and identifies nuances, as well as limitations to be aware of. Finally, it highlights important factors to address when delivering online coaching, that, when considered, support the achievement of outcomes similar to traditional face-to-face coaching.
