Walk and talk coaching

Posted on: 18 Jun 2024

SMany coaches talk about the importance of ‘walking the talk’ as coaches, but few coaches know about the benefits of ‘walk and talk’ coaching, i.e. coaching while walking. Indeed, traditionally, coaching sessions occur indoors and, in most cases, both coach and client are seated. However, the social distancing restrictions imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in an increased interest in coaching outdoors, including a study of coaching while walking.

This month’s issue of Coaching Research in Practice features this study, the findings of which provide coaches with insight into the benefits of coaching while walking for both coaches and clients. This article also goes a step further and offers you an opportunity to experience and experiment with coaching while walking in a safe peer coaching environment through ReciproCoach’s first round of Walking Peer Coaching.
