What do potential clients look for in a coach?

Before potential clients reach out to you as a prospective coach, they have usually been through a significant decision-making process. They have considered or are considering more than one coach, and are evaluating criteria before committing to a first session. As coaches, the better we understand this decision-making process, the more chance we have of attracting more clients.
This issue of Coaching Research in Practice reflects on a recent research paper that examines the preferences of coaching consumers. It identifies the common attributes consumers use when evaluating potential coaches, and considers their importance in the selection process.
